Attended my 4th WORDAFUL Event!

Liz Hernandez speaking during the 2022 WORDAFUL Tour in San Diego, CA

OMG! I’ve been waiting SO LONG for Liz Hernandez, creator of WORDAFUL, to bring back in-person events! I was beyond thrilled to see social posts for the 2022 WORDAFUL Tour, so I definitely knew I needed to be there. She hit some major cities throughout the country — Miami, New York, Chicago, San Diego and Los Angeles.

I was fortunate enough to grab a ticket to the San Diego event. This was the fourth WORDAFUL event I’ve attended, and every time I attend, my soul continues to be nourished. I’ve been a huge supporter of Liz Hernandez since her early radio days. She’s someone who continues inspiring me to be true to myself, in the same way she shows up as herself. With Liz being Latina, and a Riverside native, I always love supporting her and her brand as much as I can.

The amount of vulnerability expressed by the WORDAFUL community during each event is immeasurable.

The last event I attended was one of the last events she hosted in-person in Los Angeles, back in 2019, so I was very much ready to connect with her and other like minded individuals IRL. The amount of vulnerability expressed by the WORDAFUL community during each event is immeasurable. I’m always so thankful to share space with others that are on a mission to grow and learn.

Per usual, this event did not disappoint. The event was held at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. We were outdoors on the terrace, and the weather was amazing. All of the food served was delicious — empanadas, quesadillas, churros, chips & guacamole + salsa and queso dip. The service from the staff was great. Even though I’ve been to San Diego many times, I’d never been to this beautiful venue before. I definitely plan to come back and stay longer, for sure.

The ticket was reasonably priced and included a tote bag with some goodies + light bites and drinks. Liz opened her event by sharing her story, and also added some updates about where she is now since the start of the pandemic. The guest Liz had alongside herself was Jessie Medina, CEO of FEMX. She shared how her business came to life, and her story was incredibly inspiring. What both Liz and Jessie experienced during their professional careers resonates with me and where I am with my career journey.

The spaces both Liz and Jessie have created speak and align with me deeply. Liz and her brand remind me to continue living consciously and intentionally every day, and that pursuing my personal aspirations and passions is possible.

I love attending events, workshops and/or anything like this, especially solo, because I continue receiving confirmation that my path is my own, and where I am is ok.
